“I had the pleasure of spending 2 days and 2 nights aboard Nomade, captained by Eric and his wonderful wife Sylvie. 2 friends and I spent a very special weekend sailing around Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, and East Hampton. Eric and Sylvie were hospital, gracious, generous, patient, and wonderful company. They went above-and-beyond to create a truly spectacular experience for us. From clam-hunting, to evening barbequing on the boat, to a surprise bottle of Proseco for my birthday, to inviting us into their friend’s home, and taking care of us from start to finish…. We felt at home, relaxed, and spoiled. Thank you for the most special weekend sailing with you, I look forward to doing it again!”

“My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Captain Eric Treu when we bought our boat in Branford Ct. Our dream was to buy our boat and sail it back to Maine. The lessons were not just about sailing, they included docking, dock lines, lingo and hard question about how well we knew our boat. Things of which we never would have thought of. Carrying fuel, checking our batteries, putting up a windex, preparing and replacing lines and blocks to make our sail a success. Eric mostly wanted to convey to us that the sea is unforgiving and that we must to be ready and alert for anything it may present to us. Our Journey was a total success as we carried his knowledge all the way home. Thank you Capt Eric. We could not have done it without you.”

“Eric is an incredibly capable sailor and experienced captain, but what sets him apart from the rest of the crowd is his good nature and sense of humor. He is fun to sail with! On a trip from Bermuda to New York, I laughed harder and longer than I have on any other voyage. His sense of ease and grace gave me supreme confidence in him, the boat, the crew and the trip as a whole. Moreover, he taught me a great deal about ocean sailing and blue-water cruising, and I will sail with him again as often as possible. “

“I was glad to hear that Eric was starting Sail-Works as a new project. His enthusiasm for sailing and other boat projects is infectious. Eric’s common sense approach and attention to detail is apparent when you see him on his own boat. Having sailed with him as a fellow crew member on other boats and as crew on his boat, it’s a pleasure getting out on the water with him just for a short cruise or a serious race.”

“Captain Eric Treu took me and my wife Alice for a two-day overnight sail to Long Island this past summer. This getaway trip would have been terrific just for much-needed downtime from work and the daily family grind, but it was exceptional for the total experience. After a refreshing and comfortable sail to Port Jeff we dropped anchor in a picturesque bay, where we conveniently barbecued a gourmet meal right on board with the sunset as our backdrop. Sleeping accommodations were clean and spacious, as was his boat Nomade in all ways, and we had breakfast to a sunrise we rarely get to appreciate. Eric was extremely competent and thorough as a Captain, and we felt assured at all times; additionally, we were invited to participate in the sail as much and as often as we cared to. Eric was highly entertaining, which added even more flavor to the experience, though he instinctively knew when privacy was preferred. This was the kind of trip that you hear about from other people, and we were glad to finally experience it ourselves. It was a bargain, and there is no question that we will use Nomade again for a special occasion trip, day sail, or sunset supper cruise.”

“…the two of us, both beginner sailors, sailed from Bermuda to Long Island with Eric and an experienced first mate on a 41′ boat. It was a fantastic experience. There were many challenging situations, including a couple of storms, but Eric was always completely calm and focused. He was always interested in the safety and comfort of his crew, and also in making sure every opportunity was a learning opportunity for us.”
