41 years ago , I immigrated to the USA from Germany and working as a toolmaker and tooling engineer, my hobby was always boats. Building several smaller cruising boats, I collected a lifetime of good ideas for the ultimate ocean cruising boat. Living in Washington State , we still have good natural materials available and so I combined those with modern materials to attain a long life and low maintenance from the boat.
She is cold molded with 5/8 thick Alaskan cedar on the inside, covered diagonally with 3 layers of marine grade plywood strips glued with epoxy. Deck house and hull are all covered with 8 ounce cloth in Epoxy. The topsides of hull and some varnished areas never needed repainting in 11 years of exposure. She has proven herself in all aspects , spending 2 summers and 1 winter in Alaska. Then we spent 5 years sailing down the West Coast to Panama thru the western Caribbean, Bahamas and East Coast of US to Maine. Our intended 10 years of cruising are over and we are looking for someone who has similar plans of cruising the world in comfort in a very well equipped boat. The actual exposure of the boat is less then 10 years, since we stored the boat on land every year for 6 months during hurricane season in the tropics and winters in New England.
